Can you swim underneath an island?
Islands are the tops of mountains under the sea, so if you dive down to the sea floor you will find out that they are attached to the ground. So you cannot swim underneath them.
How do you sink an island?
Simply build the island upon containers that have the ability to act has weights or floats. In other words, containers utilise valves which can either let water in, or out. When water is let in, the island sinks. When dispensed and replaced with some type of (light) gas, such as helium, the island floats.
