What is a Simunition round?
Simunition is a trademark for training ammunition produced by General Dynamics – Ordnance and Tactical Systems Canada Inc. Simunition encompasses many types of training rounds, the best-known being the FX Marking Cartridge. Simunition rounds are designed to be fired through police and military service weapons.
Are Simunition rounds loud?

How loud is a blank?
The sounds produced by even the smallest of blanks cause hearing damage to the operator of the gun after multiple firings. And half-load does not mean half as loud. A full-load 9mm blank is 89 times as loud as the 9mm half-load.
How much force does a 9mm bullet have?
What it means is that the round generates 400 pounds of force when striking a solid object. Again a human body cant stop the 9mm at 10 feet on impact. The term footpounds means that it takes X amount of energy to move X amount of pounds a foot into the air.

Do blanks sound like real guns?
Blanks may not be as loud as a live round, although some blanks are designed to produce a realistically loud report. These may damage your hearing unless hearing protection is used. Blanks may also be loaded with a propellant (gun powder) designed to produce some smoke or some flash for “realism.”
